Twelve-year-old Harriet Kingsley loves mystery novels, but she never expected her life to turn into one. Stories about the forest by Elm Street have always lurked in the back of her mind, and Harriet starts to believe them when she happens upon red glowing eyes peering out from the forest. When Will, Harriet's older brother, disappears, Harriet takes it upon herself to find him and she finds herself in a world she never thought possible.
