It's been many years since the battle of Earthrealm. The Netherrealm has  invaded Outworld, leaving the realm partly destroyed. Many survivors including the Empress of Outworld have been sheltered in the Shiri Ryu temple. 

The Shiri Ryu have allied with Special Forces to stop the conflict. However, potential dangers for the Empress still linger inside the shelter, making this a bigger threat than anticipated.  How will the Empress deal with the destruction of her realm and her betrayers? What about how she feels about living with her father's murders?
