Okay, poems aren't my strong point, haha. This poem seems kind of like a clash of different morals only being linked by the whole "rain" analogy but I'm trying to dabble at songwriting right now so I should probably work on my poetry. I entered this in a national poetry competition for 11-17 year olds my school told me about but I don't know the results of yet. Started~ Nov 12 2021 Finished~ Dystopia: an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. "Do you love me, Cadet?" Why? That seemed to be a question you've been asking yourself a lot lately. Growing up in the underground was tough. You needed to fight for survival, food, money, and even-your freedom. Danny, you're despicable "father", had you stealing from him any chance he got. He was slick and manipulative. Having to steal valuables for him all while taking care of two kids, Kai and Mary, was really hard. The responsibility you held was weighing down on you, making you think more about them and less about you. You didn't mind though. Anything to stay away from the sinful place you call home. After a while of putting up with Danny though, you had you're last straw ripped away when he hurt you're beloved Mary. You ran away to start a new life, taking Mary with you. You become known as "Shade", a mysterious cloaked criminal known for your stealth and strength. You took pride in your reputation, and the best part was, nobody knew anything about you. From your face down to you're gender, it was all concealed. It was all cloaked. But all this changed once they found you. They took you in, capturing you to mold you into a soldier fighting for the survey corps. You despised the survey corps at first. After all, they stole you from your home. Took you away from the people you loved. They ruined your life, right? But... did they? You're stubbornness and skill capture the attention of a certain short black haired male. Corporal Levi was humanities strongest though, he couldn't like you, could he? He couldn't... At first it seemed strange but pleasant to finally get noticed, but soon you realized, nothing good came from the Corporal. In fact, your life seemed to turn into a living Dystopia. "Almost Green"
Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. Paradise Lost (Novel Adaptation)
An unofficial retelling of the poem based on Biblical creation by John Milton. I got this idea from watching Wendigoon's video on the poem. First of all I think this would be a great script for a movie, but also I want to see if I could tackle it from a book perspective. Also, read the poem if you want to get the full experience. I'm just writing this without the old English vocabulary and delivering it in the best way I can possible without having unnecessary exposition (which works for poetry and not for a book) and compressing the story in that it cuts the fat and gets to the point. I'm also giving some notes on certain names and what they relate to and where Milton gathered these concepts and ideas from. To state it plainly, like Wendigoon, I am a Christian, so I'm not writing this thing lightly because there is reverence to these names that I'm putting on paper, digital paper that is. This is not the beat-for-beat account of the actual creation story, and it should not be taken as such. It's merely an expansion on certain ideas and characters that is a "could be" or a "what if" situation. If you are a Christian reading this, take it with a grain of salt. If you aren't a Christian, maybe this opens up a new thought for you and you become more interested in Christianity (no I'm not forcing anything down anybody's throats). Either way, this is to be seen just as Wendigoon describes: Biblical Fanfiction. So, with that being said, I hope you enjoy this. Rated PG-13 just in case, but it's not too intense to handle (at least, early on. Later, maybe it will get more intense). PLEASE NOTE THAT I SAID "COULD ALSO FUNCTION," NOT "SEQUEL TO HOMELESS." Sometimes shit happens. Hey, it's not always your day, it's alright. One moment you're riding high, soaring above these mud-riddled plains with the king of mercs by your side, another, you're running far away from the crater he blew himself up in. You've really outdone yourself this time. W's dead, there's angel blood on your fingers and something itches to grow out of your skull. To pierce those gray curls of yours and bask in the twin moon's soft gaze. Something brewing deep within, eager to dim that halo forever and shatter your wings. A piece of you that's always been there, always hiding and growling, waiting for its moment to shine. So, hit the lights, Andy. Give it some stage time. Let yourself live a little. Throw out that Lateran jacket, put on some leather. Grow a pair of horns, befriend a fiend. Forget Laterano, forget Lungmen. Kazdel is your new home. And your new home's where you rightfully belong, you little rascal. Hellooooo people !! Here we are, a SPIN-OFF story of my "Curly Head" series, in which Andy actually went on that one job he previously ditched and got himself into quite a predicament. In this one, I'll turn the angst-meter down, I promise. Trapped in my Worst Novel
Protagonists, the most important characters in stories. They're the ones that are supposed to save the world and be a symbol of hope for humanity, the ones that can defeat anything in their way if they want to, the ones whom the reader wants to win and succeed... ...Well atleast thats how a good heroic protagonist should be. I wrote three novels after dropping out of college at 20 years old. My first novel was a disaster, boring characters, recycled plot, and a protagonist so rude even I wanted to punch them. The next two? Absolutely amazing and really well-liked. I was ready to quit writing for good when i suddenly got hit by a car and woke up in someone else's body, someone i don't recognize at all, who goes to the exact same school from my first novel. Yeah. That happened, i'm screwed. Great. Now I'm stuck in a world full of arrogant, clueless students. Why couldn't i have entered one of my better stories?! And if that's not enough, the soul of this body won't stop yelling at me to "give their body back", as if i could do that, while a tiny version of them sits on my left shoulder and a tiny version of my 19 year old self from my past life rides the right shoulder. What even is happening anymore? Sigh...
