Dean runs his hands over the smooth leather of the steering wheel. He couldn't believe what just happened. He huffs, before grunting out, "What's going on, baby? Why is this . . . Why is this happening? To me of all people!" The only response was the purr of the engine as the Impala sat idly on the street outside a bar. Dean had planned to go inside, get drunk, force himself to temporarily forget with a beer in his hand and a girl on his arm. But for some reason he can't go in. Maybe it's because of what just transpired between him and his angel. He didn't know, but he also didn't like it. Or rather, he didn't like that he did. ~~~ This is a Destiel fan fiction. First time writing fanfic. Don't judge too harshly. This is a fictional gay love story. It contains smut. I don't censor anything so if you aren't comfortable, then go away. No, but, seriously, you can skip those chapters if you wish. I'll warn you before every sexual chapter. Don't know how many yet. *wink* ;) So enjoy.

In Good Hands is a slow burn AU Destiel love story forged from grief, guilt, and grace. After a life altering accident, Dean Winchester is forced to confront his past, his addiction, and the wreckage he's left behind. But when he begins visiting the coma patient he put in the hospital Castiel Collins, he doesn't expect to find comfort, redemption, or love. What begins as penance becomes something deeper. Set against a backdrop of supernatural mystery, found family, and quiet moments that ache with emotion, this is a tale of healing through connection. With the help of a gentle doctor, a best friend, a Nephilim child, and one very determined angel, Dean learns that maybe, just maybe, he's worthy of forgiveness. And of a future. Because sometimes, when you think you've lost everything, you find yourself in good hands.
