Detective Tom Jackson was the leader of a team of officers, who dealt with extreme cases of murder. He's seen it all, or so he thought, until a particular case turns rather supernatural. 
Go. To. Sleep 
That's the only proper evidence to say this killer is real, but after a close encounter, the case goes cold and all the data and evidence is mysteriously deleted.
Years later, Detective Jackson takes up another case, but is thrown back into the past when an witness tells him they saw a glimpse of the murderer, who had a smile cut in his cheeks, spreading from ear to ear.
