Dirk Strider was a prince, he absolutely hated being a damn prince! The princes from the other kingdoms were weird and rude! He was bored, and tired, of being cooped up and so he ran away, well, swam. Unfortunately for the young prince, a storm swept him away. He wasn't very strong like his older brother, being a knight and all. Dirk was swept away by the storm. Days passed and the kingdom ruled him dead, only the prince wasn't dead but rather beached. The storm last night was horrible. Luckily, Jake, a boy who lived on that island, was right next to the beach. Every time a storm came through, the boy always went out to sit in the rain. Yet as he looked out on the beach, there was what seemed to be....a body? He was laying on the shore, water all the way up to his waist! He hoped they weren't hurt. They weren't moving, so Jake had to do something fast. He ran down the cliff from his house, not caring if he was getting dirty from the freshly wetted dirt and leaves. As he got closer, he saw that they were breathing, making him a bit relieved, but he was bleeding on the side on his chest. As Jake was about a foot away, he realized that...this was no human. Not one bit. Jake pulled the body onto the beach, revealing its tail, a bright orange with some shine to it, scales covering from his hips to his, uh, tail. "A-Are you okay? You're bleeding a little...!"

Everyone in town knows about the sea monster. Every night, he goes into town to find his prey. He lures them in with his voice, only to bring them back to the ocean, to eat them. Few survive this, and the people who do, they lose their mind, like they were cursed. You can only gather from them that he was beautiful, his voice was like an angel's, and that when he took you into the ocean, he became a monster. He only hunted young men, women, teens, and the occasional twelve-year old. It was terrifying, because the people had no way to stop him. Every night, someone would go missing, or come back insane. They knew he lived in the ocean, and when people tried to bomb the area where they thought the monster lived, they would either be cursed, or just eaten by the sea monster himself. And the people who came back insane, they would always wander over the fact that the monster had not even a scratch on him. Teens, young men and women would fear for their lives, and lock themselves in their houses at night. But only one person refused to hide, either in bravery or utter stupidity. That person was Will Solace. So basically, this story is based on the cover art of the book. I just thought it was such a great idea and wanted to put it to story. I saw another person do this and they used the same cover art, and I hope you guys like my version! I, personally very much like it and hope you guys do to!
