And it's loud and slow and it burns her ears. It's a static noise white hot and never leaves her brain. It leaves her irritated, eyes lined with sleep, hair frazzled. The 24/7 is empty almost as though the rest of the world ran on a normal sleep schedule that didn't leave tears pricking at their eyes when they yawned.
She decides she needs a snickers and a can of soup.
