Everyone is born with 1/2 a necklace at random. The other half goes to their designated other. This will determine who they spend the rest of their life with. Bryn is just like any other 16 year old girl until her necklace breaks which is sure to insure certain death for her and her designated other. No one knows and she will do anything to keep it that way.
