With a life filled with pain, suffering and depression; what can you do to run away from it all?

Rachel Miller never had a reason to be angry with her life; she always believed the events taken place were meant to happen. She learned to cope with her father's death, her mother's alcohol addiction and living with the man who provides a roof over her and her mother's head, despite the tendency of verbal, physical and sexual abuse. At one point in her life, she knew it all had to come to an end but if it didn't, she didn't know how much more she could take. There was only one choice Rachel had - to hit the road. As she set foot on the open road, with a journey of uncertainty in front of her, she not only finds a way out but a new life.

When one is in an abusive relationship, usually the solution is to obviously leave that relationship. But ones fears may hold you back from doing something that you may or may not regret. This is the case for Juliet, who is seemingly very happy with her marriage, at least in the eyes of every bystander. Of course that's not the case in her own opinion. The relationship is nothing but constant abuse from the very aggressive husband who has made it very clear on several occasions that if she were to ever leave, that he would find her and the consequences would be deadly. His mission to find her has now begun as she makes her getaway as he is passed out drunk on the floor. Where is she to go when her parents are self centered people who only care about their fortune? Her aunt of course, who loves her as if she was her own. Her aunt is the one who raised her, so why not return home? Her lifestyle has now been changed as she changes the way she lives as she returns home to the countryside. Now living on a farm with her aunt, more responsibilities have to be taken upon her. What happens when her aunt passes away? She is now faced on this journey of life by herself. She's not totally alone when she realizes her past friends still live in the area and she makes a reappearance in their lives. The rare love she never feels slowly starts to return to her life. What happens when her closest neighbor, Everette, is her only hope for that of fixing a tractor? Connections start to be made and relationships start to form. Friendships? Or more? That is the question for them. Can their relationship be strong enough to help heal wounded pasts. Trust forms in both of the new found lovers. Can their love be strong enough for them to overcome the power of Ross (husband) He's coming back and he plans on fulfilling his plans and being true to his word. He wants Juliet dead. Can the lovers overcome him if he were to return? © Samantha, Rayne, 2017

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

"I need you to be the put together one because I'm so fucked up. You've saved me." He whispers. "Carter, we saved each other." I mutter looking at him through my eyelashes. I lean into him, our lips not even an inch apart. "Sophia we shouldn't..." He looks hesitant. "Please, I need you." I almost started crying. "Please." I mutter one more time, my eyes begging for him. My body needing him. Sophia Carrington. She just moved from New York to California in search of a new life. When her life took a dark turn she's forced to leave everything behind. She just wants to finish her final year of high school, numb to the world, while learning to cope with the trauma she's endured. Carter Marquez. Newly single after being dumped by his girlfriend of two years. After losing his dad in a car accident he's fallen apart. The list of people he trusts is short, he hates letting people in. He's constantly trying to make up for his mistakes of the past, trying to find a new purpose in life. When the two of them collided, they instantly took a mutual disliking to each other. Misunderstandings and a dash of alcohol set a flame between them. Sophia hates the snarky remarks and stupid nicknames that leave his mouth. Carter thinks Sophia is just another trust fund brat. "But just look at the world around you, Love. There's messes everywhere with unclear answers. Don't give up yet." She told me gently. "I know, but I just wish that this was less confusing." "Well, things are gonna get confusing after a while, but you can't just stop trying. You've got to search harder for the answer; maybe it's somewhere you haven't looked yet. Someday you'll trip over a rock that's harder than this, and bandaids won't just stare you in the face. You won't know what to do. So prepare yourself for that day, baby." "I'm gonna trip over a rock?" I asked, eyes widening with worry. She shook her head, the bubbly symphony of her laughs echoing in the room. "No. I mean you're going to be in trouble one day and you won't know how to get out of it. Like this, but tougher." "You mean I'll have to go through this again? But even harder? Ugh, I won't make it." I sighed heavily. "No. I know you will. It just won't be so black and white. It'll be....in between the two." "So it'll be just grey?" She revealed her big, beautiful smile to me as if I had understood all that is right and wrong in the world. Kissing the top of my head, she whispered, "Exactly." {full synopsis inside} Rankings- #16 in juveniles #94 in newkid #241 in multimedia FULLY EDITED VERSION NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON KINDLE!!
