Lydia , her mother and her sister Allison moved into the estate when they were young.
Fenced off from the world they are taught perfection in hope that the estate will stay as flawless as they made it.
Lydia calls it home - the 'outsiders' call it the Barbie estate. 
Everyone and everything is a competition
Lydia always spared her mothers feelings by carrying out her rules so that she could be the perfect child
But after seeing Allison grow up she realises the outside world has to be better than the estate 
She plans on escaping, leaving everybody behind.
But in a twisted turn of events ends up returning with more than she left with.
She meets Stiles and helping him, the outsider, meant breaking all her mothers rules

Nothing was a democracy anymore. The people had no say in anything that happens and were immediately killed if they protested against the idea of a monarchy. Princess Lydia Martin is heir to the throne, a soon-to-be queen of America. Her mother and father have been ruling for twenty five years and have to pass down the throne to their only child. Because Lydia is their only child, her safety is crucial. If any harm were to come upon Lydia, then the throne would be at threat and an amateur cousin could rule and America would be in grave danger since they’ve made enemies that would want nothing more than to see the king, queen,and country come crumbling down into pieces. Tensions between the countries are stronger than ever and countries need to be allied with each other since that is the only way to stay alive. Ever since Lydia was a child, her parents have had an arranged marriage for Lydia to wed the son of the king and queen of Great Britain, Prince Stiles. The two are now old enough to wed each other and rule together, but the current kings and queens aren’t ready to give up their throne just yet. With threats greater than ever and people who would gladly see their enemies head on a plate, Lydia and Stiles are tied together and must face the harsh realities of what being royal is really like. The future king and queen who are strangers to each other now have a duty to stay alive and become the rulers of two countries. (Characters rights go to Jeff Davis since he created them. Plenty of spelling and grammar mistakes. In fact, I might be a little scared to even try reading one of them. Before Wattpad made all these changes, I decided to no longer share this book, however, as I'm coming back I thought: why not? This book is part of who I was and who I became because of it. Scott McCall's father left him and his mother when she finally told him to get out of the house. Scott was only five. Melissa told him to leave and come back when he got his priority straight. He never came back. Then came Stiles Stilinski, the newest member of the group. His father was an alcoholic who wouldn't come home at night. His mother was in the hospital, slowly dying. He was placed in the McCall home at age sixteen, a few years after everyone else. They're all misfits in their own ways. Always will be.
