Liv is a girl in High school and also an actress. She lived a "normalish" life in Wisconsin. Until one day, she ended up in Auradon.
Mal has learned to become good, but she can still have bad traits when she wants too.
Liv see's Ben and is immediately smitten.
Mal and Liv are enemies at first. But they learn to become friends...sorta.

Meant to be - a Descendants story (Bal)
Once upon a time, in a kingdom known as Auradon, lived a young prince. He was one of the most kind and caring princes the kingdom ever had. He cared about everyone, even the ones no one thought were actually worth caring for. One day, the month before his coronation, he made his first proclamation. He wanted to give the children of the villains his father had abandoned to the isle of the lost, an equal chance in Auradon. And so he invited four villain kids to Auradon Prep. Mal, daughter of Maleficent; Jay, son of Jafar; Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil; and Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen. Most people thought they would be just like their parents; evil, vicious and cruel. But Ben was convinced that even those who were raised to be villains had a good heart. And he wasn't wrong about that. It came with some struggles, but they found their place in Auradon too. After his coronation he decided that more kids had to come over, as the first four proved that they could live just like other Auradoniens in the kingdom, amongst the other citizens. He didn't really know them well personally, but only heard good stories about them and that was proof enough for him. What was once one became two. Via the marriage between Belle and Adam (formerly the Beast) and the Fairy Godmother's incredible magic, Auradon and the Isle of the Lost were born. The former was a beautiful haven sheltering the heroic benevolent characters and their children. Good was unanimous and everything was offered and fair. But the lateral was a literal hell to live in. Housing the most rotten and atrocious scums to ever exist, numerous villains were forced to reside in the darkness, cursing the creators for their banishment and stripping their powers away. But who else should be more vengeful than the Mistress of Evil. She searched and lusted for any way to escape her territorial prison. She refused to accept the ostracism and vowed to find a way. While she didn't wish on a shooting star, assistance came from the most unexpected places... Meet Michael! New resident to the Isle of the Lost and Mal's older brother. Crash landing into the verboten land, he is found by Maleficent and taken into her family. Alongside his new sister and their three bonded friends, life seemed well for the moment. But a new opportunity bestowed from the remorseful son of their enemies would change everything. Good intentions lead to hell as the first five villainous teens are welcomed into Auradon with the mission to steal the Magic Wand (the very same item that created the barrier around the Isle of the Lost) bestowed from their malicious parents. But it was easier said than done. What was told or heard can differ from what can be seen and felt. Hearts are conflicted. Morals are challenged. Characters are change. Two roads lay ahead.
