Tan skin, hot bods, you all know them. They save lives on a daily basis and still look good doing it.

The Lifeguards.

Danni has scored one of the best summer jobs she could ever dream of. She has always admired them from afar and now, she gets to be one. Of course being a lifeguard is a very serious job with lots of responsibilities- but it doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy the perks too. Right?

Wrong. Relationships between fellow lifeguards are strictly forbidden. Anyone caught ‘canoodling’ behind the stands is automatically fired. No exceptions. So what happens when Danni manages to break this one rule? Shit hits the fan.

***

“No exceptions-“

His lips crashed down on mine, like when a rough wave crashes onto the shores we watch. This kiss, was filled with hunger and excitement. I wrapped my hands through his sand colored hair and my legs around his firm tan body. This would be the only and final time we kissed. After, I would avoid him as much as possible and show no signs that I might be physically attracted to him. But as our kiss deepened, I somehow knew that this wouldn’t be the last time. We gasped for air and then he buried his head into my neck, slowly leaving a trail of kisses towards my collar bone.
Mr. Lee only gave us one rule, and I managed to break it.

(18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT) "Attract a lot of attention, huh beautiful?" His voice hit me like a wall, absurdly catching me off guard. It was deep, sensual, something any girl (or boy) could melt over. I was sort of speechless, yet trying my best to appear unafflicted. "Only the wrong ones." That was definitely drunken me talking, as I didn't usually have that much confidence. His lips twitched up into a smirk, expressing that he understood my comment. "Does that mean that I'm in that category?" My palms began to grow sweaty and my heart rate picked up, but otherwise my body remained relaxed, appearing completely fine. It similar to when you're on autopilot, completely withdrawn due to intoxication. "I suppose not," I crossed my arms, putting on this seductive persona just for him. This fueled his smirk, about to murmur another comment before I cut him off. "You'll have to show me, though." *** Amelia Hollis was a 23-year-old writer at one of the local publishing companies, assisting a very handsome man and writing articles left and right. Her and her best friend, Aviary, lived together in a cute little apartment off the central part of the city, yearning to create new memories and important moments. Amelia always lived for the moments, taking in every little detail and savoring it like it was her favorite meal. She was an optimist, hoping to change peoples lives with her dreams. James Vallette was a 34-year-old CEO, building his company from dirt with the help of his brother. He was a realist, not really having time to deal with dreams or even love. He knew this the night he laid eyes on Amelia. It was only casual; what harm could a one-night stand do? Oh yeah, he's her dad's boss.

♡ BODYGUARD AND PRINCESS ROMANCE ♡ I dropped my arms to my side, as he placed the one back onto the side of my head, while the other gripped at my waist. Our bodies were now touching, more than they ever have before. I could practically feel the heat coming off of his chest as his eyes eyed me like a serpent. "We are going to stand here for 5 minutes, and pretend that I am not a bodyguard. And you are not a princess. We are just Kane and Evelyn. And I am going to grab your face, and I am going to kiss you with so much passion, you are going to be begging for more, until you are on your knees for me, Princess." Shit. He knew how to get me turned on quickly. I leaned in closer, as I began to tease him, causing his eyes to look right at my lips. "So do it then, Mr. Young." ***** Evelyn Hale, Princess of Agevin, learning her trade to become her Kingdom's next queen. But their is one rule she has to obey. Summer's Last Breath

This book comes out of Kindle Select in a week so I'm going to start posting it a chapter at a time in its entirety. Summer's Last Breath is the prequel novel to The Emerald Series. One of my dad's favorite sayings is, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Well, Jamie Jacobs happened. Jamie was, and always would be, forbidden fruit. Besides being four years older than me, he was the newest recruit of my dad's experimental team. Jamie was also the experimental part of the team. Meaning he wasn't exactly human. He was amazingly more than human. What better person to recruit to be on a SEAL-type team than someone who was literally born to be in the water? Some people go their whole lives and never know love. I knew it at sixteen. While I didn't know Jamie forever, I knew him long enough that he changed me. He didn't mean to break my heart. He didn't mean to crush my dreams, but he did. And if I had it to do all over again, I would. I absolutely would. This is our story. Because I never want to forget.
