In the year 2003, 30-year-old Alexander Williams is tired of the way his life has been going, to the point of depression.  After a failed suicide attempt, Alex reunites with an old friend and drummer named Kana Lee.  After reuniting, the two talk about their old high school band "3 Shines" and the wounds Alex carries from it.
