After being abused by her parents because of a life changing accident Katie decided to run away. Her step brother Aiden found her at the beach crying before she was about to commit  suicide and took her to his home. Aiden left their parents house at the age of 21 because he couldn't take the abusive content he got after the incident. He left without telling them where he was staying. At Aiden's place he had 4 room mates. Alli who is his girlfriend and his fiancé now. Readen who is one of his bestfriends since grade school. And last but not least, Ryder . Ryder is Readen's  little brother who is the same age as Katie. Katie's step brother decided to take care of her and keep her safe, to do this she moves across town from her old home to this beach side house and now she has to go to the same school with Ryder that supposedly was the bad boy/ player and her football star boyfriend who she'd seen with another girl on the beach.
