Aspen has woken up in a dark, rusty cage with no idea where or even who she is. Soon, she finds herself surrounded by fifty or so teenage boys. Being the type of person who does not put their trust into others easily- or even at all- Aspen is immediately wary of them.

All of the boys see Aspen as a threat just because she stood out. All except one. Newt. The one boy she feels a mild connection with. The one boy Aspen is most unwilling to open up to.

With an ever-changing labyrinth, deadly Grievers, fifty teenage boys and a certain boy Aspen needs to sort out her feelings for, Aspen can only hope to get out of this torturous 'Glade'.

Then, she catches sight of a young, chubby boy. She seems to find him interesting. So young, yet so independent. So strong. Aspen occupies herself every day by staring and watching him. Chuck. Everything is peaceful.

Until war started.

Somehow, Aspen manages to find out how the Maze works. How it operates. Its secrets. Down to every last detail.

The Creators have never seen a test subject do that before. And, they are more than determined to prevent the Maze's secrets from leaking.

Aspen finds herself caught in an internal battle. To tell, or not to tell? Aspen doesn't know.

What will Aspen do? Will she open up to Newt? Will she save the boys' lives or will she keep the many secrets to herself? Aspen only knows one thing.

She will not be trapped any longer.
