Nick is a vampire, and the son of the Demon of War. Which is all well and good, however in a world in which his kind is hunted by the less powerful yet more numerous vampires of Common Demon heritage, it doesn't quite benefit him. Desperate, young and ignorant of the world of the Night Children, he knows he must live a life of secretive solitude to avoid his capture. However, when it is revealed that vampires like himself are revolting against the Common Demon tyranny, will he join them? Or will he stick to what he knows is safest, and live alone for his eternity?
