They say love is blind, but to what? Blind to beauty? Blind to imperfection, or fault? Blind to evil? Does it have the power to mask hidden, vengeful intentions? Or does the person falling for another block that side of a character out? Perhaps, it even works to one's detriment by rendering that person oblivious to someone's true nature. But that leads to the prospect of whether or not that can be classified as love, rather than simply pure desire to feeling something for another. To fall in love is to give a piece of yourself that, in most cases, you don't even know existed to another being trustingly with no hesitation. What they fail to inform us is how to know if someone is falling beside you as you tumble off the cliff. They may promise to take your hand and jump with you, but even the most charismatic people can turn back at the last possible moment. Anyone can lie about the inner workings of their heart for the only person who knows what you truly feel is, evidently, you. Even the devil can conceal his sinful features with a grin and welcoming eyes promising love and fortune. The only way to avoid getting brutally injured by someone who isn't who they preached to be is to not allow them inside your head. Though when you're weak, battling for every lingering breath, barricades into what you really require to be whole again seem to fade. Any being with a reasonable explantation is granted access inside you. Ultimately, what you presumed to be yours to hold is passed along to another mind to be unraveled, scrutinized, twisted, and manipulated. In that instant, you are haunted.

Redefined every time someone new uses it, and sometimes in a more vile and lascivious way. Love was never on the table. Completely erased from his vocabulary after his mother died an unforgiving death. However, sometimes the feeling can emerge from even the darkest places in the world. Twisted and depraved. Behind the closed doors of a kidnapper's home. Or from the void that swirls in the chest of someone's missing heart. Even between the forbidden love of an angel and a demon. Love can come in all forms, in all contexts, and can form from even the smallest smidge of scorching hate. There is never light without darkness. There is never yin without yang. There are never days without nights. There is never love without hate. There is never life without death. Even villains and demons can fall in love with heroes and angels. His salvation comes from her, and her destruction comes from him. Like clockwork, they are a match made in the universe; polar opposites, but the attraction is never stronger.
