Liam Peterson have always been the gum at the bottom of everybody's shoe. No one liked him or even cared about him in the slightest bit. When the day of prom gets closer, Liam decides to take a risk and asks Julia Simmons, the most popular girl in school, to be his date to prom. To his surprise and everybody else's, she accepted.
But when the day of prom comes, Julia decides to ditch Liam and prom for a college frat party. And when Liam shows up to prom without a date, everyone ridicules him and teases him throughout the whole night about how he could never be the man that a girl needs. Fed up with the life he was living, he committed suicide.
When Julia heard of Liam's actions, she felt disgusted with her own and runs away to New York City. Flash forward five years later and Julia is fired from her job and evicted from her home. With no choice left, she decides to move back to Emirine Valley where she is haunted by the past.
But her troubles have not come even close to ending. In fact they just began.

Due to having a terrible memory, Aiden decided to write in journals about his daily struggles, his longing for a better life, and breakthroughs that he accomplishes throughout the story. Aiden loves to sing and Write his own music. He is good at the piano but his love is the old guitar that his Gramps gave him years ago. Aiden has one younger brother named Caleb, which is the normal typical annoying brother. Aiden has a girlfriend named Tessa who lives about an hour away from him who he longs to marry. Throughout the story, Aiden struggles to move on through each day, as days turn into night and night into day, he finds himself growing colder towards his father. Who is the towns hero practically. everybody loves the star football coach, Josh Phillips. Things aren't what they seem behind doors though, their father tends to be abusive. Verbal and physical. Aiden can choose to live with his mom but chooses not to because he wants to protect his brother who can't choose yet. As Aiden dives deeper into his fathers unknown past, he uncovers more and more details about his father's past. As he continues to dive deeper, the tension grows heavier. Through out the story, Aiden finds himself digging through old journals, trying to remember certain things.
