Old York is the oldest standing city in the American Plains. The Plains are the desert-like stretch of land that cover all of what use to be America. There are other people who live in the Plains. They are called Scavengers. They sometimes attack the city scavenging for food or money. They wear black cloaks and move stealthily through alley ways. There have been many reports of people being stolen by them, but nobody knows where they go.

They don't belong in the normal human world but the world they once lived has been taken over by the Darkness and is unsafe for young children. When Luna turns 16 she is to cross to this world to not return until she decides to have kids of her own. As at 16 her abilities start showing which is also too dangerous because Luna herself isn't what her parents expected her to be.مكتمِلة
