After the brutal death of 22 tributes, the 74th Annual Hunger Games come to a close. Everyone was dead, except the final 6. Still standing was District 2's Cato and Clove, District 5's Rianna, District 11's Thresh, and the Starcrossed Lovers from District 12. The fierce 6 kept a tight race, but their deaths came at a fast pace. One by one falling, dead, first was Rianna's suicide, with a palmful of Nightlock berries. Katniss Everdeen fell next, as Clove had finally got her, she got a clean stab to the skull and chest. Thresh fell hard, after his tremendous loss to Cato, but it was the sickening end of Peeta Mellark that got us all. As he stood before the pairing from District 2, his love was already cleaned up, and shipped home in a wooden crate. He would see her next, in that exact same form, and we all knew that.
As he stood, at the tip of the gold horn, the Mutts stand below, waiting for his flesh to be devoured gruesomely by their mouths. Peeta jumped 15 feet down into his own death, and even after being ripped and mowed to death, the District 2 pair couldn't bare. Standing where Peeta Mellark had just been standing, they throw their remaining weapons down, trying to prevent the massacre not only them, but all of Panem have drawn in to watch. His death caused their victory, but was it good to say you had returned home together, if you had witnessed, or even murdered, some kids whose dreams had become your reality? It wasn't. No matter how fierce the District 2 pair were, this burden would hang over them, forever more.
