Half Full Therapy

"Take a look at this glass of water," he says, holding up the cup with only half of the water in it. "Is this cup half empty or half full?"

I stare at the cup for a few minutes, thinking about what my answer should be. Finally I give a conclusion. "Looks about half empty to me," I say.

Julian shakes his head. "See, it's all about perspective, Elena. Whether you see this glass half empty or half full, it determines how you see the world."

I give a small laugh. "Deep," I say. "How do you change your perspective?"

Julian's almond eyes sparkle with his smile. "I'd thought you'd never ask."
