The Black Plague was one of many devastating times in history, causing well over 75 million deaths across Europe. During this time, the plague doctor profession arose. These "doctors" would diagnose those who may be infected with the Black Death. The majority of these doctors were teenagers, physicians in training, or ordinary people with no medical training whatsoever; a medical license was not required for the job.

A man who took part in the line of work is a legend known to most in Europe; some may call his story a myth or a folk tale, until they happen to cross his path.

This man is dubbed, "The Mad Doctor," or as he prefers to be called:
Nazarus.
