Jessie is an unemployed 25 year old scurrying the streets of London, living off benefits and a small weekly "allowance" of £40 from his ashamed parents. Wondering what to do with his life, besides sitting at his one-bedroom flat whilst chugging beer every night, alone, he would do anything for some cash.
Max has really bad family problems. Like, horribly bad . Her mother is only well described as a drunkie; not caring a slight bit about her own daughter. Her father left when max was 3, 20 years ago. And then there's her stepdad. Abusing her is basically his daily routine. Leaving more hurt marks on her body than she already makes herself, letting her depression and anxiety take over and with no control reaching the nearest blade, nobody stopping her.
Both have very different lives.
Different, horrible problems.
