In year 10 of school was the year that everything changed. That was the year I stopped calling my house a home. The year my mom fell apart, the year my father left, the year I had to become stronger on the inside out, and the year Adam Higgins moved next door.

I was nothing compared to him or what he fit into, the day he walked into the first day of sophomore year. He went straight with the jocks while I just went and sat by the sycamore tree.

We came from different worlds, but he's a part of the story. Trust me, he changed everything. The day he thought I had no grammar when I spoke to my house.
