Carlos Ortiz is a young poet who has just moved to Houston, Texas from the Dominican Republic who begins to date Tia Lawson, an aspiring model. They however find that they see the relationship in two seperate views. Tia seeing it as only for the moment while Carlos sees it as having long term potential. Trying to figure out what route to take the relationship on, they get advice from friends and family. Will Tia's ambition drive Carlos under a rock? Or will Carlos' introverted nature push Tia away?
