If someone would have told Dan when he was 18 that he would meet Phil Lester the one that saved him, he would have laughed in their faces.
And then tell him that he was going to fall in love with him, with Phil returning the feeling, he would have laughed harder dropping to the ground. And then that Phil would break his heart, He would have stopped laughing and believed that. Dan has had a hard life with depression and loneliness. But Phil comes and saves him fixing him and picking up all the pieces no matter how sharp. And falling in love with him at the same time until he breaks it off and Dan's heart as well. But Dan can't take it and tries to get back Phil.

After being saved he suddenly can see numbers floating above everyone he passes by and quickly figured out that those numbers represent the lifespan of that person counting down in seconds.
