Ollie is a quiet, smart boy in Ponyboy's class. Pony and Ollie happen to be best friends. Pony has mentioned that he has a group of friends that are so-called 'greasers'. Ollie wasn't known as a soc or a greaser. Sort of in the middle. Ponyboy takes Ollie one day to study at his house after school. Turns out the gang is there and takes a liking to the soft boy. Darrel is stressed with work and taking care of his two brothers and was getting angry a lot recently. Sodapop felt disconnected and almost sick all of the time and was very tired of being a middleman to his brothers all the time. Ponyboy was struggling with his sexual orientation and was scared what others would say when he realised he had fallen in love with, not even a girl, but Johnny Cade. Really just me trauma-dumping onto all of the Curtis brothers and adding Darrel's anger issues to the mix.
