On the crime ridden streets of Old London Town the law has been subcontracted and justice awarded to the highest bidder. But from the dark depths of despair and chaos, a hero is born.

A murder in the town of Ostere isn't headline news
A vagrant running from conscription is common place
But this vagrant knew the deceased and was witnessed fighting with the deceased
So now the police want a word
As do the killers
Ben Jackman, vagrant by day, hunter of road kill by night, isn't the man to take the fall
Proving his innocence is obvious
Finding the killer is crucial
But Ben needs a gun, a big gun with lots of bullets, because the seedy streets of Ostere have a new breed of criminal and they aren't looking to take prisoners

For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!

21 year old Victoria Moretti, is an assassin. She is an independent woman that doesn't rely on a man to do anything. She thinks they are a waste of time and that they are egotistical or thinks highly of themselves, that all they do is sit around waiting to be laid on. The only exception she has for men is if she needs to have relationships with them for her missions. Her hatred towards men began due to her trauma that was caused by her father who abused her mother, her, and her younger sister. Victoria always hated how her father would treat the girls in the house, she never truly understood why he did the things he did but she was always to scared to question it, scared that if she would say anything her father would have an outburst of rage from the sudden question. So she never said anything she kept her mouth closed until something would change her life in a positive or negative way. But one day after one of her missions her boss called her telling they have to have a little talk over some dinner. Reluctantly she had to accept it due to it being her boss. Her boss told her she's going to have a partner due to her next mission being a difficult one and you physically can't do it only with one person. Her partner being Tom Kaulitz. She was mad at her boss because she knew that he knew about her problems with men and her background with them, but her boss simply didn't care on what she has to say since he's the one making the change. - "𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒. Finding Jack: 1888 in Whitechapel

10 parts Complete

In a reality not too unlike our own, the hunt for Jack the Ripper was in full swing. However, what if in this reality he happened to be caught? "One small change can do a lot", a wise man once said, and nothing is more true. In this reality, things were different in the Metropolitan Police which would see a big impact in their investigation: women could, too, be employed as police officers. Will this make an impact? Perhaps you should take a peek... ~~~ This Short Story is an adaptation of 'Catching Jack the Ripper' made by StoneRaptor7598 who kindly let me put a swing on things in my own version.
