The end was almost two years ago, when I was only fifteen. I've survived to see a sort of reforming of civilization, but the world is still far from safe. Beyond the fences, the people who don't live in the cities are more dangerous than the infected. But the infected that come in droves, pressing themselves against the barricades that keep them out. We knew. We knew damn well not to break the rules. And now we're going to pay for it.
