As soon as I arrive at Times Square, there is an echoing crack, then a flaming body slams into mine, sending us flying into the ground. Luckily, there was a fire hydrant to smoothie the landing. The air was sucked from my lungs, as I was just a mitt for a giant-flaming-fastball-demigod. Leo Valdez, hot boy supreme, quickly apologized trying to pat out the fire on my pants and shirt. Thankfully, my hair is fine.
Before I go any farther, let me explain that situation. You are probably thinking,
Wha? Flaming body!?
Yeah. It's normal for demigods, especially around Valdez.
Wha? Demigod?
We got ourselves a slow one here. Mhmm. Demigods. Children of the gods. And, no. It's not fun. Not one tiny little bit.
Wha? It seems awesome! Powers! Cool stuff!
Because. It's not. Death! Wars and stuff!
So, shush for a moment , so I can explain. Can't believe you weren't worried about my hair. Pfft, mortals and their standards.

Leo Valdez tries to cope with abusive foster parents, and has this unhealthy obsession with finding his mom's killer. He lives in a world of black and white, with good and bad, and cigarettes, and grades. The thing is: he's not sure what to do this time. He's never met anyone who could ever relate to him. Until he met Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson who is having his own trouble dealing with his own abusive step-dad Gabe. He's a confused teenager, not knowing how things will get better for him and his mom. Gabe doesn't help them in the least, and Percy's mom makes him go see a shrink. He meets a kid there, unlike any other being in the universe, his name is Leo Valdez, and this is when their lives start exploding like fireworks. Au for Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
