Set in a rural village of Pakistan, the story revolves around the ruling family, the Mirs. Deep set in their traditional values, they follow ancient traditions, and believe in preserving the bloodline at all costs . When Mir Daniyal's materialistic wife Sobia is unable to have children, he bows to his parents will and marries his aunts daughter Azwa, for one reason only, to produce an heir. making it clear that it is the only reason for marriage, the two battle internally to not develop feelings for the other, all the while Sobia creating barriers between them. Old feelings resurface and there is treachery within the family itself.
