In the kingdom of Magicae, King Basileus waited outside the door of his wife's bedchambers, screams of agony and pain seeping through the cracks. Suddenly, the screaming stopped. Dead silence was given to the king until he heard a newborn babe's wailing. He knocked on the door softly, hearing a soft invitation for him to come in. A midwife stood near the bed, his queen under the blankets looking pale and sickly. Basileus rushed to her side, gripping her hand. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I never told you but-" she swept back her hair to show him her sharp ears, the ears of an elf. "My mother was Fae. My father an elf. Raise her carefully please. Goodbye. I love you, Basileus." Her hand became limp in his as the tears flowed from his eyes. King Basileus stood up proudly, tears still falling from his eyes. He walked up to the midwife and held his princess in his arms. "Artemnia. Princess Artemnia of Magicae." The infant looked at her father in curiosity and gurgled as she reached for his fingers. He gave her a tearful smile before handing her back to the midwife. 18 years later, Artemis was running wild, making mischief and running free. Unbeknownst to her, evil was threatening to flip her world upside down. Will she overcome this darkness with her life or will she fail as her ancestors before had? Will she betray love or friendship? Find out in 'Magicae'.
