Akyra was raised in the Sky realm by her mother, an entire civilization up above the clouds. She wonders more than normal about the land below-all she can see is a stretch of plains for miles upon miles. What really goes on beneath the surface?
Rayna was raised in the Earth realm by her father. The entire realm is underground in caves of all sizes, where many live their lives without seeing sunlight once. Rayna travels to the surface daily, a job she unwillingly took. She admires the sunlight but is also curious: what goes on up above in the Sky realm?
Two completely different people brought together by unfortunate circumstances find themselves questioning everything they were ever taught and discovering secrets of the realms that should have stayed buried for many years longer.

The Song of Deirdre Part I

Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand.
