Another rainy day in New York City.I opened up my umbrella as i walked out of my apartment that i'm now sharing with my best friend,Carmen.You know,rain is not so bad.I love the sun but rain,it just gives you that cool feeling.Like,it ease your mind for a bit. 

My days of being a dhampir,a guardian is no more.No,it's not because of Dimitri,that's just plain stupid and i'm just not that person.It's much more than that.I just couldn't handle it anymore.

'You didn't answer my question,' he asked, holding her gaze in his hypnotic ones. 'Wh... what question?' She was surprised at her own voice, it sounded like of someone else's. She wanted to ask him--which question, there were so many he had asked her tonight. Each one threatening in their own different ways to her sanity. Brandan smiled mysteriously. Not answering her, he instead said something else, 'Don't keep staring at me like that.' His voice was soft. Suddenly, she found herself in some other world. 'W.. why?' She stammered ridiculously. His lips slightly brushed against her, she closed her eyes in anticipation, under the spell of their lips connecting. Sparking were the electricity all over her skin. ''Cause....' He took a step back from her, leaving her cold and she was too lost to do something about it--like leaping closer to him and getting engulfed in the euphoric warmth once again. ''Cause, you will fall in love with me... ' He paused as growling deeply a set of thunders boomed above the skies. Cold wind made her hair dance around. He finally finished his sentence, 'Again.' Rain poured down upon her heavily as if the entire sky was about to break down over her, She opened her eyes against the cold water to see he had lef alreadyt, leaving her to drown into his words, completely. *** They say love's blind. Maybe that's why Emma loved Brandan despite all odds, more than she loved herself but only to find that it wasn't enough. When time and fate decided to be cruel to the utmost, she found herself broken in all the ways possible. Realizing that love wasn't enough, she picked up her ruined self and found a new beginning at the end. But fate had, apparently, some unexpected plans in store. He was still there-sitting on the bench outside her house, drenched in rain, his clothes clinging to him like shadows in the night. The wind played with his soaked hair, but his gaze was unwavering, locked on her like a lifeline. Despite the storm, he hadn't moved an inch. She felt a pang in her chest. He should have left by now. He should have walked away when she told him to, but he hadn't. He stayed. "Why did he have to stay?" Her mind, clouded with frustration from her day, couldn't process the silent message his persistence was screaming. She leaned against the railing, staring at him, her heart betraying her mind. The rain poured harder, and she could barely see his face clearly, but his stubborn determination glowed through the storm. Finally, she called out, "Why are you still here?" He stood slowly, wiping water from his eyes, though the rain kept blinding him. His voice was steady despite the cold that must have seeped into his bones. "I told you. I'm not leaving until you say yes."

I closed my eyes and tried to fight against the pain in my chest. "Just tell me I won't." "You won't," he said, pulling me closer for another hug. I grabbed onto his sweater desperately, pathetically, trying to keep him next to me for as long as possible. "I promise."
