Mature
14-year old Rebecca lived with her father in a huge mansion. She enjoyed her life the way it was. She loved her family, her home, and her multitude of friends. But there was one thing that wasn't quite right about her perfect life: it was all in her head. In reality, Rebecca's life was a nightmare. She was constantly harassed by the kids that live in the town, her father starved her and didn't want a child, and she lived in a dirty, bug-infested trailer home. Rebecca hated her life so much that she decided to pretend it wasn't real. When the kids called her names, she pretended they were complimenting her. When her dad struck her with a chair, she saw it as a warm hug. Instead of crying, she laughed. Rebecca continued this until she completely believed that every horrible thing that crossed her path was a gift. And slowly, but surely, her sanity fades away, and so does she.
