In a creative writing class in the spring 2015, I was tasked with writing three short stories for the semester. The first two are based off of TMC, but for the third one I wanted to do something completely original. I started with one question; "Do you believe in creatures that we can't see?" From there, the words spiraled into a short story that I would later present at an academic forum and an idea for an entire trilogy. I have already begun planning out the trilogy, but will not start writing it until 2016. In the meantime, I'm sharing the original Prism Realm short story with you, in all of its "mostly edited" glory.

These stories are all based in the universe of "Pearls of the Mother," the same universe from which the "Duncan and Lilly" stories live. "The world around her swam with mottled light. How long had she been fighting?" So...in sixth grade we took this computer-skills class. Our final test was to write a short story in Microsoft Word. My story ended up fleshing out into the trilogy I am working on and planning to publish at somepoint in my life, but I realized how incredible my writing skill has improved between just the two or three years. The supernatural isn't a myth anymore, they are real and I'm one of them. And now the whole world is after us. Note: This can be read as a standalone but you can read Taken first if you want. There's no reason to read it if you don't want to. This book is completely understandable without reading Taken beforehand.

But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.
