Smuggled from an orphanage under the cover of darkness, a young boy is thrown into a world of engineering and intrigue where airships soar in the skies and strange mechanical men lurk in the shadows. Paying homage to likes of Robert Louis Stevenson and Philip Pullman, this is steampunk for people that don't do steampunk.

This steampunk/steamfunk story about a woman who finds herself in a hidden world was listed as one of the top 200 stories of 2013 by locusonline.

This piece was initially written in response to a call for submissions to a Steampunk Shakespeare Anthology. The story, based on The Tempest, was not accepted into the anthology. I submit it here for your enjoyment. Please feel free to comment.
