Seven years ago, Alice Lockhart moved from London back to Ireland to take care of her sick grandmother. In doing so, she had to leave the only other thing she cared about. Sherlock Holmes. In 2012, she moved back after her grandmother died and she got a text message that told her to come to St. Bartholomew's hospital. So, she did. And she watched her oldest friend fall to his death.

It's 2013 now and Alice has just started to get her life fixed, only to have it torn apart again. Alice faces mysterious messages, terrifying tarot cards, feeling that she's being stalked and so much more.

She starts to wonder if this has something to do with something that happened back in Ireland.

A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality. Catholicism is discussed. All disturbing scenes are usually forewarned, that is it's clear what is going to happen. Some brief peril. Some light disturbing humor relating to murder. But he remembers; in the most tragic and inopportune of fashion, remembers how angry he had been when Sherlock had jumped, how furious he had been at his funeral, and how it hadn't stopped him from breaking down at his grave nonetheless. The thing about his anger is this: it does nothing but leave him behind in the end, a bundle of nerves and frailty in his bones and an unsteady sway to his gait. It does nothing at all, but reduce marginally the constant, suffocating oppressiveness of his days bleeding into one another with a burst of adrenaline. The thing about his anger is this: it doesn't give him back Sherlock. So he gets a new flatmate- a woman named Holland. They were great friends at school and in fear he would be lonely again after Sherlock died he started to meet up with her, and soon, she moved in with him. They're just friends, though. No one could have a bond with John like Sherlock did. Sherlock was his best friend. But then Sherlock returns, and John is more furious than ever at him. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.

Now you, Sherlock and John Watson are solving cases together, but what happens when the person you fear most shows up and starts to torment John and Sherlock.

He was just as much in awe of her and she was to him. Suddenly, he clears his throat and they both look away. "My apologies, I, um, I wasn't looking where I was going. Sherlock Holmes." He introduces holding out his hand to help her up. "Katherine, uh Kat. Kat Moore." She stutters out and takes his hand and he pulls her up so they are standing face to face. The two continue to stare at each other while holding hands until John comes limping out of the flat snapping them back into reality and breaking them up. They pull apart quickly as if hoping John didn't see their interaction. "Maybe I'll see you around?" Sherlock says as a taxi pulls up for Kat. Kat reaches out and opens the cab door.
