Anna appears to have the perfect life. She has a lot of friends, and plenty of guys who would love to date her. Her family has enough money for her get everything she wants, and she's getting almost all straight A's. But she has no one who worries about her when she gets home late, no one to talk to about more important things than nail polish, and no one that notices that she's unhappy. So when, on top of everything else, her parents do nothing to celebrate her 18th birthday, she finally decides that she has had enough. With the help of her new found friend Angelica, she gives it all up in order to stand on her own two feet. All of a sudden she finds herself living with people she barely knows, in a part of town that she had never dared to set her foot in before. Nor had she ever had a reason to do so. But what happens when reality catches up with her? Is she really going to be able to give up the life she has always known for good?
