Lucas Friar has not had a normal childhood, from the time that his mom left up until his little brother was taken away from him and given to the girl next door.
Riley Matthews ended up with a baby at the age of fourteen. What was she supposed to do with it?
Lucas and Riley have always known each other. They live next door to each other, Lucas' father likes Riley and vice versa.
But then someone horrible tries to do something terrible to Lucas and Riley attempts to stand up for him. That ends poorly. But, in this time of need, Riley and Lucas learn more and more about each other, and start to trust each other more and more.
Finally, Lucas tells Riley his deepest, darkest secret and together, they try to fight their way out of it.
But somethings can't be unfolded. Will the two stay together? Or will Riley lose Lucas forever?
