Widening the door I seen him holding another bag, with flowers in his hand and a blunt behind his ear "really? More peace offerings?" "Ain't none wrong in that" I thanked him for it as I was raised with manners I placed the flowers on the counter alongside the bag not bothered to look inside and see what he got. "That's how you gon do me?" He asked pointing at the flowers on the counter. "I mean flowers really not cutting anything right now" I shrugged. "It better cause I came here to apologise" he walked over and stood in front of me with his tall ass self. "Mhm" I hummed ready to hear what he has to say. "Real shit though. I know I ain't really been on my shit cause I got other shit I'm dealing with so Ion really wanna put that onto you cause you'n deserve none of that. So I told you Ion wanna rush it so I don't become the man that don't treat you good" at this point he put his hand in mine and used his thumb to rub the back of my hand in circular motions. "So I wanna apologise for allat cause I ain't really tell you what's going on but Ion really wanna wait for that date no more". There was just some in his eyes that was getting me especially with his head being slightly tilted not even thinking of trying to break eye contact with me. "So what does that mean?"

"If you were really my best friend, you'd see that you were the only person I've ever wanted to be with. You've been dating everyone else while I'm just sitting around waiting for you to open your damn eyes!" I yelled at him as tears streamed down my cheeks. He looked at me with wide eyes, clearly confused. He then held a sympathetic look on his face when he saw how passionate I was about this entire situation. I can't believe he didn't realize all these years that he was the one I wanted to be with all along. "How was I supposed to know Riley? You didn't tell me shit!" He yelled back at me but still held his same sympathetic look. I shook my head at him, wiping my face as I backed away from him, stepping into a pile of snow in the process. There was already snow on ground but more snow had just started to fall from the sky. "Look, I have to go. My mom wants me home for dinner." I said turning on my heels and walking away towards my house. I didn't even bother looking back but I knew he was still standing there. I wondered if he'd run after me or if he'd sweep me off my feet like I always imagined but no, nothing. Just broken dreams and maybe even a broken friendship. *For hopeless romanticsComplete
