Ingrid Durham is many things. She is quick-witted, open-minded, clever, beautiful, intelligent, kind, thoughtful and caring. She is a 17 year old girl, living with her business indulged father, who is always forcing her to be better. All her father cares about is money, and that is just what he is offered when Mycroft Holmes makes him an offer he couldn't resist. Mycroft feels that his brother and his companion are becoming a bit rusty, and are in need of something to keep them on their toes.
Mycroft offers Mr. Durham 5,000,000 dollars to lend his daughter to Sherlock Holmes and John Watson for exactly one year and six months. Without a second thought, Durham sends his daughter to live with two strangers. Ingrid takes whatever she can in two suitcases and a bag to 221b Baker St. On the outside Ingrid seems to be a quiet, ditsy, dumb girl, but on the inside she is an absolute genius, with a mind out of this world. Deciding she is awfully way too smart for school, Holmes and Watson decide she will only go two days a week.
When she isn't absolutely kicking butt at school, she is helping discover the unreal about psychopaths with Sherlock and John. But, with one case leaving all of them absolutely stumped, they go to great lengths to undercover the perfect murder.
But, sometimes somethings are better left unknown.

As she attempts to forge a relationship with her brothers once more she comes to realize that she is not the only one wishing to make a connection with them. An enemy in the shadows calls Sherlock's name, wanting to play a game, and Teddy is not exempt from this. The mysterious Moriarty has caught Teddy in his web and she is forced to play her part in The Great Game. As the days go by and the danger grows, however, Teddy begins to wonder if coming home was the right thing to do. Some things should just be left in the dark where they belong.
