It is not easy to make one’s way through the interiors of Borneo today. Imagine how much harder it would have been and the steadfastness required in the early 20th Century for an English planter’s teenage daughter to follow a Scottish trader from Rajah James Brooke’s capital Kuching to a settlement along the Batang Ai river in search of a missionary she had met only once before. There were steamers that plied the serpentine waterways from the capital to various trading and administrative posts along the mighty river but chartering one would have required sums of money which the young lady did not possess. The option which was within her limited financial means was to journey on foot with merchants who employed local guides. The route crossed head-hunter territory although, by the time the events in this story took place, it was considered a safer passage after the conversion of several of the major tribes in Borneo to Christianity.

GOES TO BALI IN CORONA 2020
Alkhamdulillaah hirobbil'aalamiin, I pray only to Allah S.W.T who has given me everything until now. Allah also gave me the opportunity to finish this short story "Goes to Bali in Corona 2020" in a pandemic condition like this. Prayers and greetings I will specialize in my role model Rosululloh Muhammad S.A.W. who had provided a second to none role model that I hope I can follow to the end of the world. Thanks to Mrs. Hj. Sri Hartatik, M.Pd. which has given me the opportunity to visit Bali Island again after so many years of never visiting it. My next thank is you all, my colleagues at SMKN Tempursari Lumajang who could support me to write this short story to become a book. The last, I have to tanks to all of my family members, who always love me and of course support me and always give many chances in order I could finish this short story of "Goes to Bali in Corona 2020". "The difficulties lay not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping old ones" Technology had been playing its most important in the human lifestyle in this modern world. Everywhere we go every man on Earth, would have various gadgets around them. The world is now borderless. Everyone can communicate with anyone no matter where they are. There aren't any more boundaries between societies. Other than that, with the presence of the Internet man, could seek various kinds of information from multiple websites; be it useful or harmful. Death had not been any man's fear. Even though it is a fact that every man would pass to the afterlife when the time had come, they do not fear the consequences they had to bear later. Some mistakes weren't well observed as not everyone was gifted with good observation and understanding skills. Due to that, some man was blind by revenge. Hatred and revenge burnt in their heart and soul forgetting that the law is still being upheld. Letters and notes were old ways to express someone's feelings. With the new technology, many had decided to move on, using e-mails and social media to express what they feel. Having a note in a home compound might be exciting for anyone but not Addison Lore. Those notes were sent to her without fail for fourteen continuous days. Even a red ruby ring. Will she be able to escape the fate she was about to face?
