"I just want to remember, Harry." She cries through her words and I can feel my heart breaking as I embrace her. "I want to remember everything."
"You will remember," I assure her and pull her body closer to my own.
"But what if I can't? What if I never remember and you leave me by myself -"
"I'm never going to leave you," I say sternly. "And if you never remember, then we'll just have to make new memories together. I fell in love with you once and now I get to do it all over again." She pulls back, letting me see her tearstained face and I almost break down myself.
"You'll really stay with me?" She sounds surprised and I smile at her, stroking her hair gently.
"Of course, I promised that I'd stay with you no matter what when I married you. I will never go back on that promise. I'm with you until the end, Els."

I cupped her face in my hands, rubbing my thumbs in circles over her cheeks. She was having trouble finding words to describe what she felt, and I could relate.
