I wrote this for a school competition, the prompt being
"The mind is its own place and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven."-John Milton.
Seeing as I go to a religious school and seeing as it's a quote from Paradise Lost I thought I'd try and write a satanic poem in code, you know, just for the fun of it. It's basically a tonne of references to Dante but whatever it was fun to write.

Your new husband is despicable. Afraid for your life, you escape, only to meet a man who seems every bit as dreadful on the outside as your husband is within. But looks only run skin deep. Paradise Lost (Novel Adaptation)
An unofficial retelling of the poem based on Biblical creation by John Milton. I got this idea from watching Wendigoon's video on the poem. First of all I think this would be a great script for a movie, but also I want to see if I could tackle it from a book perspective. Also, read the poem if you want to get the full experience. I'm just writing this without the old English vocabulary and delivering it in the best way I can possible without having unnecessary exposition (which works for poetry and not for a book) and compressing the story in that it cuts the fat and gets to the point. I'm also giving some notes on certain names and what they relate to and where Milton gathered these concepts and ideas from. To state it plainly, like Wendigoon, I am a Christian, so I'm not writing this thing lightly because there is reverence to these names that I'm putting on paper, digital paper that is. This is not the beat-for-beat account of the actual creation story, and it should not be taken as such. It's merely an expansion on certain ideas and characters that is a "could be" or a "what if" situation. If you are a Christian reading this, take it with a grain of salt. If you aren't a Christian, maybe this opens up a new thought for you and you become more interested in Christianity (no I'm not forcing anything down anybody's throats). Either way, this is to be seen just as Wendigoon describes: Biblical Fanfiction. So, with that being said, I hope you enjoy this. Swept from your bed in the dead of night, you are hauled onto an alien spacecraft. What happens when the being on board wants much more than just to experiment on you? You lead a solitary and mediocre life, until one night when you wake up strapped down to a hard, metal bench. From above, extraterrestrial gadgets terrorise you. From the shadows, a being with a glowing robotic eye watches you. When you wake up back in your bed, you are not convinced that it's just a nightmare. You are proved right when you are abducted again and again and again. The alien cannot leave you alone. Despite his "designations" and "protocols", he wants more. Something deeper. Something more profound. And he wants it from you. He's like a machine. He hates to be touched. He hates anything to be non-sanitized. He can't stand human emotion. He fakes a personality, just to seem okay. He hates technology, but is nothing without it. He's a professor to the class, but supposed to be a student. He teaches the same thing everyday, but was meant to be there only to learn. And then he loses control, unable to be a machine any longer, he begins to realize worshiping technology is nothing but a curse.
