He will try anything to keep his throne as his subjects become smarter and the domination year, where the new ruler will be decided, slowly approaches. A gloomy, gothic and frightening meditation on guilt and the nature of evil, ULTIMUM CARCERON takes place in the future, millions of miles from Earth, where the worst of humanity has been sent to the prison of Ultimum Carceron. While mankind has made home on colonies and space stations in a luxury amid its perfect machines, Carceron remains a black spot of complete mystery. The prison's mythology has only grown from its recollection by those who have been released, and from there erupted into countless rumors, each more ludicrous than the last. On the Europa Colony, Theodore Arkight lives an average and virtuous life as an engineer, and is expecting a child with his fiance. When one of his friends desperately needs money for a political campaign, however, Arkight seeks illegal means of acquiring money. If he gets caught, he could risk being caged in Carceron, and he has no idea what surreal environment he would find there, or if he could survive it. *This story was on the 2018 Wattys Longlist. In this planet most physics and natural laws are like earth's but evolution has taken a much different course to the point where there are many different species of sentient creatures. One of these races was the Zeph. The Zeph have an unique way of consolidating a relationship, one engraved on a biological level. Sometimes gone awry, this consolidation doesn't work for everyone. This is the story of two zeph trying to deal with this almost unprecedented failure among their people.
