There are five rules to surviving the disease that ravaged the world:
1) We have to avoid the infected at all costs.
2) Their breath and blood is highly contagious.
3) Disinfect anything they've touched in the last 24 hours.
4) The sick are already dead after 24 hours.
5) Don't trust anyone.
In this apocalyptic world there is only one goal: survival from the infected, and 18 year old Percy and her friends intend to do just that.

Iris Lithe is the student teacher for Ms. Frank's elementary class. When the class decides to go on a field trip to the local hospital, things take a turn for the worst. A deadly virus breaks out and no one knows what it is, or how to stop it as a whole portion of the city, including the hospital they are at, is quarantined off. Iris then meets a young officer by the name of Jake Riley who is also trapped in the quarantine. There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Oh, and zombies. Zombies is definitely on that list. It's almost a shame too, that I have to race through a city packed full of them to find my missing family. Packed full of zombies, by the way, not crocks. (Although I don't know which situation is worse.)
