When Felix, an Uplander from a Noble family, is accused of a horrendous crime, he is sentenced immediately to banishment to the Underneath. The Uplands is considered high society and a 'better place to live' while the Underneath is a marsh pit of crime and disaster. He is broken through the barrier between the Uplands and the Underneath and soon realizes that it's an eat or be eaten situation. With the help of an unexpected frienemy, Felix must rely on his new partner to get back to the world he loves. But once he is back, will he really want to go?
