The world of Ondel lost hope, long ago; a land, once beautiful, plagued by a bloody civil war and brainwashed bigots who aspire to eradicate the inhuman races. Times were dark in this age, but nobody thought matters could become worse.
But they can.
From the ruins of a broken world, a threat arises. A dragon, with wings of black, eyes of ember, and supposed immortality pumping through its blood. The beast, who kills with no remorse, is bound to destroy the world.
In the time of despair, the Eight Divines respond to the fear-driven prayers of their people--with five names. Five names belonging to five girls destined to save the world.

'She could become their savour - or their destruction.' Rumours surrounding the untamed might of a young fire dragon are spreading across the continent of Ballasmara like wildfire. The seemingly limitless flames drive a variety of leaders towards the juvenile dragon to use as a weapon to gain an edge over the enemy after generations of fighting. Ember's fire doesn't stop growing in power and poses a threat for the very dragon that it lives inside, but external forces are also at work which will change her forever. Pressure continues to soar as the war continues to drive all the dragon species towards extinction, including her siblings. Two pairs, their fates entwined like threads of a single tapestry-woven from love and ambition, from loyalty and betrayal. Which threads would hold, and which would tear, none could say. One was a maiden of noble grace, a daughter of House Danford, fierce in spirit though gentle in heart. The prophecy tied her path to a prince, heir to Vandestine's throne. Together, they would stand against the storm. Some swore their love would endure, brighter than the sun. Others whispered that even the sun must one day fall. The second was a crown princess of fire and steel, heir to Eyaelyr's empire. By her side, the son of a northern duke, bold and unyielding. Their passion was said to blaze like a tempest, fierce enough to shake kingdoms. Yet passion cuts both ways-what burns brightly can also consume. The prophecy spoke of betrayal, sharp as winter's knife, but gave no name to the betrayer, nor the betrayed. Thus was the riddle left: two loves bound by fate, one to flourish, the other to fall. A generation of witches emerged in a world where two factions, the Druids and the Witches, held power over the Earth and its elements. Gifted with the ability to harness the powers of Light and Dark, they dedicated themselves to honoring the Goddess Mother and the natural world. They celebrated life, abundance, and the cycles of nature through festivals and rituals. The Goddess Mother blessed two witches with extraordinary power, one with Light and the other with Dark, and bestowed upon them a book containing all the spells necessary to honor her. With this book, they could even cheat death itself. However, they were forbidden from using their powers for evil. Meanwhile, the Druids delved into the dark side of nature, making pacts with gods of the afterlife who demanded blood sacrifices. The Elder Druid, consumed by envy, plotted to steal the witches' power. Spreading lies about their wickedness to mortals, the Druids convinced them that only witch burnings could lift the curse. The Elder Druid's greed knew no bounds, and he sought the Goddess's book, whispering more falsehoods about the witches. Fear gripped the land, and countless innocent men and women were burned at the stake until the witch hunts finally ceased in the late 17th century. The two High Strega, the last of their kind, devised a plan to protect their magic and revive the Witchline. The Goddess revealed a prophecy: when a daughter of Dark and a son of Light possessed the book, the Witchline would be restored. They separated, hiding their true power and passing the book from one High Strega to another across generations. Until now...Complete
