After being a loner his whole life, Marilyn, a 17-year-old teenager living with his single mother, must decide between two girls: on one hand is his best friend Rachel or Rose the mysterious girl he meets at a local gig. Marilyn's choice is not only between two people, but between two ways of life: the pure and creative or the dark and destructive. 

Rose from the Abyss is a psychological study of family dynamics, mental illness and adolescence set over the backdrop of growing disillusionment among the youth of the early 21st century.
